Apple on Tuesday afternoon provided its vast developer community with a second beta release of iPhone Software 3.0, which arrived alongside a promise by the company to gradually open its live Push Notification service and In-App Purchasing to beta testers in the near term.

SplashPhoto ($5) allows users to sync photos between their iPhone or iPod touch and desktop computer. Within the application users can organize photos into albums, upload or download images from Flickr and Picasa and set up a password to keep the photos private. Ericsson announced on Tuesday that it will demonstrate HSPA data speeds as fast as 56Mbps at the CTIA Wireless convention, which kicks off on Wednesday.
